Coiling for Lyme

Trying to cure one case of Lyme Disease

A Body at Rest

I spent today recuperating. Besides the trip to see my sister and her family, I had a few weeks straight of high stress at home. Things are now essentially resolved. Today was the day to decompress and hang out with my cat.

I thought I was going to unpack, return phone calls and emails, open the mail, run down to the store. Instead, I spent most of the day on the BioMat watching movies and introducing myself to Enterprise.

Star Trek has been my way of keeping myself lying down on days when I need rest but can’t focus on reading. The first year I stopped working, I found it as difficult to stay still as to move. When I found Deep Space Nine, things got a lot easier. I could focus on something, and there were two really strong women characters to inspire me in my journey. I’ve seen all the other live action series (but not the animated one) and all the movies since I began the Lyme journey. For a long time, it was my primary way of getting out of my apartment when my body was stuck here.

Anyway, I got nothing done today except discovering that every episode of Enterprise is available to stream. Tomorrow, I’m hoping to feel better. If not, I’m sure I can allow myself a full weekend to rest after a month of pushing my limits.

Coiling

It’s time for Lyme. I’m increasing by 15 seconds the amount of time I do my back compared to the last coiling session. I’m now at the same amount of time I did on my abdomen. When I coiled, I got a headache and some chest pressure. Break out the magnesium citrate!

  • Lyme, lower half of back, 3 minutes
  • Candida, abdomen, 10 minutes

Detox

Let’s just say the BioMat has been my friend all day.

  • juiced greens
  • kombucha
  • BioMat (over 12 hours on a variety of settings)

Body

My overwhelming symptom today was physical fatigue. I’ve had headaches on and off all day. My eyes bother me when I get too close to the computer screen–like when I’m typing. I watched all the media today from more than 10 feet away.

My muscles have been tired and mildly achy, same as my joints. It has been wondrous to be able to spend a whole day resting.

My blood pressure has been a little low. I can tell from the type of fatigue as well as a particular kind of thirst that can only be quenched by salt (in my case, pickles).

As far as I can tell, the only thing resulting from yesterday’s foray into rice noodles is a strong craving for grains today: pasta, rice, crackers, soba noodles, anything. I haven’t indulged.
