It’s summertime. Watermelon is in season. It’s juicy and delicious, especially when it’s just out of the refrigerator.
So I cheated last night.
Once I had the first piece, I figured I would have an allergic reaction later, so I ate more. I ate my summer’s allotment.
I had a tiny piece of watermelon on Tuesday. It gave me gas and loose stools the next morning. No biggie.
But twice in one week…and the quantity I had last night.
Well, let’s say I’ve confirmed that I’m still allergic to red foods.
I don’t cheat on my hyper-restrictive diet very often. In the past, I’ve cheated with mango, one of the extremely long list of fruits that I’m not supposed to eat because the sugar in it feeds the infections. Actually, I’ve cheated with mango and sticky rice with coconut milk at the local Thai restaurant. Very tasty. Very bad for me. Very gassy after I eat it. Very achy the next day.
But I rarely cheat from the allergen list. I get the gas and the aches. Then I get loose stools or diarrhea…and headaches and tooth pain and jaw pain and fatigue and a very hard, very bloated abdomen. (Those things happened today, in case I needed a reminder of the consequences.)
Still, after 3 years (which is when I learned what I was allergic to), cold, fresh watermelon was totally worth having once.
I’m getting back on track. I’m up to my full complement of coiling treatments. I’m thinking tomorrow will probably be a Lyme coiling session.
Before my trip, I was bumping up on Bartonella and Babesia at the same time. It was too much. Then I cut back on both so I could reduce my Herxing while I was with my sister and her family. Now that I’m back, I’m thinking I should do one or the other and work on it until the fall when the Lyme becomes active again.
I’m tempted to do the Bartonella because that is the one that makes my digestion wonky and irritates my vagus nerve. Then I’ll keep going slowly on Babesia, just maintaining the progress I’ve made so far and not generating Herxes from it. We’ll see. I’ll report on it as I go.
- Bartonella, chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 5 minutes
- Babesia, liver, 10 minutes; ilium, 1 minute each side; knees/elbows, 1 minute
- Candida, face, 2 minutes; chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 10 minutes
I’m still getting the detox protocol under way again. I’ll need until Monday to start the juicing.
I’m putting away the BioMat for a little while because the weather is so hot. I can just turn off the AC and sweat as much as I want to.
- homeopathic support (all of them)
- skin brushing
- rest and a nap
- exercise (a medium walk)
Night sweat, shirt changing level. Glad to be sleeping on a towel.
I was really, really tired all day. I kept coming up with plans, then finding myself either stretched out on the couch or lying down.
Then there was the allergy stuff I wrote about already.
I’m having floaters in my vision. My shoulders are tight and crunching (esp. the left side). My knuckles hurt. My knees and feet hurt. My jaw is popping. The back of my neck hurts, that special Lyme shrug that some LLMDs like to talk about. Some abdominal pain: sharp, focused pangs that last a short while then reappear somewhere else.
I have a friend staying with me for a few weeks. The company is great. It’s also good for my spirit.
