Since yesterday, when I wrote about my current coiling plan, I’ve made a change. It seems that the Bartonella red-flag, pain in my feet upon waking, has become an almost daily occurrence. So I’ve changed it a little, to fight the Bartonella. I’ll be coiling my abdomen daily for Bartonella instead of every other day. Go figure.
The reason, as I understand it, is that as Lyme dies down, it can’t generate sufficient biochemical signals to suppress the other infections, especially as the other infections are already thriving. So I need to do enough treatment of the other infections to keep them at bay, while trying not to treat them enough to cause additional Herx reactions.
I spent the past three days in my apartment resting. Yesterday was the first noreaster of the season, complete with snow, lightning and miserable wind. It was a good excuse to stay home, even beyond a need for rest.
But last night after I coiled my head for Lyme, the Herx came and I got restless and couldn’t sleep. I woke up early this morning, too, after only 6 or so hours. So I knew I would have to go outside today. I did.
It was a gorgeous day. Sunny. Cool. Windy. No chill in the air, just clear and clean. I went to the farmer’s market down the block and dropped off what I pulled out of my dresser yesterday evening when I needed to clean out something to calm my restlessness. I bought 4 varieties of winter squash that should last me this week with lots of tasty, fresh, local food.
I went out again to hang with my parents and join them for dinner. Getting out of my apartment, getting to be with people I love and who make me laugh was just what the doctor ordered.
A few days ago, I started taking 5LAC (one packet a day) instead of 3LAC (2 packets a day) as my main probiotic. I’m already having a Candida die-off reaction. Not technically a Herx, but I had a major gas attack last night, and my skin is breaking out in odd places, like behind my right knee, as well as my face. Now that the florinef is more or less out of my system, I thought I was ready to up the ante on the candida offense.
This is the new daily protocol. Then for most of the week, I’ll be doing Lyme in rotation.
- Candida, chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 10 minutes
- Bartonella, chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 5 minutes
- Babesia, bottom of feet (heel), 1 minute; calves together, 1 minute; back of thighs together, 1 minute; back of ilium, 1 minute each side; 3 sections of spine, 1 minute each; shoulder blades, 1 minute each side; back of head, 1 minute; top of head, 1 minute; liver, 10 minutes
- Babesia, top of feet & ankle, 1 minute; shins together, 1 minute; knees/elbows together, 1 minute; front of thighs together, 1 minute; front of ilium, 1 minute each side; sides of ribs, 1 minute each side; front of shoulders, 1 minute each; sides of head, 1 minute each; chest, 10 minutes
- skin brushing
- diatomaceous earth
- fresh air and sunshine
Last night was poor on the sleep front. Lots of wakefulness, light sleeping, not that many hours. Could be the Lyme Herx. Could be that my menstrual cycle is about to start (a recurrent, consistent reason for insomnia).
I had cramps on and off all day, pre-menstrual, I assume.
My joints were much better, but my bones hurt. My feet had the sharp pins and needles feeling when I first got up this morning. Tonight my left shoulder bones hurt.
This evening I have a bit of a headache. That, too, could be pre-menstrual or the Lyme Herx. No way to differentiate, but my guess is the former because my light sensitivity isn’t too bad.
