In mid-December, I ordered a coil machine. I purchased an amplifier (sometimes they’re pretty cheap on eBay). Unfortunately, most stores were on back order until the middle to end of January. I called every online store until I found the last one available for sale in the continental United States. Both parts arrived in December.

Last night, the coil and the capacitor box arrived. I spent this morning hooking up the wires, looking for a table to put it on in the corner of my bedroom (I settled on the chair that goes with my sewing machine), running out to get medicine in case the Herx reaction is intense and feeling a bit nervous. It wasn’t difficult to put together once the setup was off the floor and I could get some good light on the back where I was attaching wires.

At about 3 this afternoon, I used the coil, set to the Lyme bacteria frequency for 15 seconds, over my abdomen. The coil generates a somewhat loud and annoying tone, which makes me think I’ll start using earplugs as the length of time I use the coil increases.

In the first 15 seconds, I didn’t feel anything. But about 2 or 3 minutes later, I felt this heavy feeling in my chest, like my heart was racing or otherwise in distress. This is the same feeling I’ve experienced the few times I’ve tried taking the subway. Three hours later, I still feel it. I started out with a bit of a headache, which has since moved to be in my right temple, above my right eye and above my left eye. My vision seems slightly strained.  Other than that, so far so good.

I’ve made a cheat sheet for myself with the frequencies I’ll need and the corresponding switches on my capacitor box. Besides Lyme, I’ll definitely be treating Bartonella and Babesia.

Now it’s time to rest. We’ll see if a Herx reaction arrives.

It’s 10:45pm and I’m getting ready for bed. The heart/chest discomfort stopped about 4 or 4.5 hours after it started. But my head is killing me. We’re talking severe eye pain, light sensitivity, sound sensitivity, pain on various parts of my skull and a hard time finding words if I try to speak. I even snapped (rudely) at a friend on the phone because the pain is giving me a short temper. I haven’t had a headache this bad since I started Rocephin (an intravenous antibiotic). I tried taking a bile binding drug that is supposed to reduce the intensity of Herx reactions. So far, it hasn’t helped. Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep through the pain.
