I have two beautiful friends with big things going on. Their joy is my joy as we accompany each other along the long road of life.
Black & Kinky Amongst Brown Waves
My friend Margaux is performing a one-woman show about her travels and work in India. She’ll be in NYC the second and third weekend in September. It’s a great performance. I saw it in Washington DC on a previous run. It’s an inspiring understanding of racism and cultural (mis)understandings and access for people of differing abilities.
I helped out a little with her chapbook and the posters for the show. I’ll be there for some of the performances the second week of the show.
Details here. And if, like me, you’re inspired by what you read about the show, help Margaux raise funds because community theater doesn’t run a profit.
Acupuncture
I spent part of today helping my acupuncturist, Teresa Kresse, get her new office ready to open on Friday. She’s done amazing things with me, and I highly recommend her for other people fighting Lyme disease. Her office is in Cedarhurst. Contact me if you want her number.
Coiling
I got too tired by helping out today and decided to let my acupuncture treatment settle. No coiling.
Detox
- skin brushing
- kombucha
- acupuncture
Body
Only 5.5 hours sleep last night. I’m mostly attributing the insomnia to the Herxing process, and a little to thinking too much before bedtime. Woke up with a mild sweat.
Acupuncture was great. I could feel things moving. My tailbone stopped hurting after the treatment and my sternum rash calmed down. But I’ve been tired since then. I guess helping in the office afterwards was a little too much for my body, even though it was fun and I got to sing old Madonna songs in the process.
I think I accidentally ingested a very small amount of egg at a diner today. I got the special egg reaction headache with mild alteration of my vision. (For some reason I didn’t tell my acupuncturist or my mother.) That could be the other reason I’m tired.
The rest is usual: loose bowels, urinary hesitation, eye pain and headache, ear pain, itching- now in my limbs, especially my left wrist, floaters in my vision, swollen glands at the base of my back- bigger on the left side, pain in my wrists.

I’m a bit crazed getting ready for a trip abroad in two weeks or I’d definitely go to this performance. I’ve passed it on to a friend who might be interested. Best of luck to Margaux. And congrats to Teresa on the new office.
Thinking too much before bedtime??? No, I don’t know anything about that. 😉
