Hurricane Irene is blowing my way. I’m not sure she’ll make it all the way to NYC (or Atlantic City, where I’ll be staying with some friends this weekend). But I can feel her effects already.
Outside my body, I can hear the wind in the trees making the evening sound restless. It’s a variable wind blowing in changing directions. There is no stillness, yet there are few cars and none of the usual noises from the park.
Inside my body, my joints are pretty unhappy. They ache more intensely than usual (even for this part of a Herx). My right hip joint is very stiff, and the nerve going down the outside hurts extra much.
It used to be that every time the weather changed (before it started raining, when it stopped raining, when a cold front moved in, when a warm front moved in, before snow, you name it) all my joints would be stiff and painful. Since I started coiling, the pain from weather has reduced in intensity by a whole lot…until tonight.
I’m not really sure if this is the beginning of the autumn Lyme Disease flare. I’ve heard that in general I should expect it in September. However, I’ve heard from two other people who coil that they feel the fall flare coming on already. So that is one possibility. The other possibility is that this particular atmospheric disturbance is worse than most of the ones we experience in NY.
All that being said, my shoulder is extra crepitant tonight, my fingers hurt a ton, my right leg is a streaking mess of pain. My right hip is requesting replacement. I just hurt again tonight (after a tired but not terribly painful day).
Coiling
- Bartonella, chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 5 minutes
- Babesia, ilium, 1 minute each side; knees/elbows, 1 minute; liver, 5 minutes; chest, 5 minutes
- Candida, abdomen, 10 minutes; chest, 2 minutes
Detox
I have vinegar-tasting homemade kombucha sitting in the fridge waiting to be decanted. It’s not so much that I don’t know how to brew it but that I’m not always quite well enough to harvest in within a day or two of when it’s ready. Thus I’m not drinking it even though I know my body could use it.
The Welchol experiment went reasonably well. I took it for two days (1 pill per dose, 2 doses a day). Prior to the weather changing, I was doing pretty well on the pain front. The spine pain was tolerable, the back pain (upper and lower where the other bones are) was moderate, the nerve pain died down fairly quickly, and my headache never reached the excruciating level. I’m keeping it up my sleeve for the next time I do a Lyme coiling session. The only thing is that I’ll need to get more ice cream!
- skin brushing
- biomat (level 2, 40 mins)
- juiced greens
- walk outside
- cleaned my bathroom (getting rid of growing colonies that haven’t started growing on me yet)
Body
I was restless today. Granted, I had a somewhat stressful email this morning, and maybe I can attribute everything to that. But I’m prone to these tired, restless days as the Lyme Herxes work their way out. I couldn’t get up and dressed, but I couldn’t sit still either. So I cleaned my bathroom (not scrubbing, but enough to see the difference), I straightened out a little, I took out the garbage and recycling. I watched a movie that was funnier in high school with friends than when I was restless and in moderate pain today. I can’t quite still my agitation.
No night sweat last night. Seven uninterrupted hours of sleep. I woke up with acute pain across my upper back which was relieved by the BioMat. The back pain moved around all day.
I was hungry today. Then after I ate I was nauseated. This happened with breakfast, lunch and snack, but not dinner or a much later dessert. My abdomen is swollen but not distended, and hard but not tender. My stools are loose and excessive compared to what I’m eating. The urinary hesitation only happened once today.
The glands in my lower back are swollen and tender.
The rash on my sternum has returned, itchy, but not hot and only pink, not red.
This evening, as mentioned, I’m in a lot more pain. My hands and shoulders have sharp, hot pain. My right hip is stiff with pain radiating down my leg. My left knee hurts. I’m getting a headache and I’ve got floaters in my vision.
My jaw joint on the left side is popping and making loud noises. My jaw and ears, both sides, have been irritated for two or three days, even though I forgot when I’m thinking about my other problems when blogging.
I’ll need to turn in soon to stave off the hurricane experience.
