Over the course of this autumn Lyme season, my Herxes got worse for a while and now they are milder. I’ve got two theories: reduced toxicity in my system and a smaller bacterial load.
The reduced toxicity, I think, comes from adding diatomaceous earth (DE) to my daily protocol. It seems that 1tsp per day with two glasses of water really unloads toxins before they can build up. It’s cheap. It’s easy. It requires almost no preparation. And it works. The proof is that I haven’t needed Welchol since I started taking DE every day. The way it works on the kinds of toxins I’m dealing with is similar to what Welchol does, binding to bile and anything else that lands in my intestinal tract for excretion. DE doesn’t prevent Herxes, but my daily toxin load seems to be going down so that the Herxes aren’t happening in an already overloaded system. Plus, it seems to reduce their duration. The worst part only lasts a day. Then it clears up over the next few days in a less debilitating and much less painful way than before.
(The problem, of course, is that it reduces cholesterol. I didn’t have much to start with and I’ve been craving dairy like crazy. Now I think these things are related.)
I was expecting autumn to be much worse in the way of Herxes. I’m not sure if it’s because I still have a lot of Lyme bacteria in cyst form or because I did manage to kill off a lot of it with antibiotics and coiling in the spring and summer. I got to my first full treatment this week. I don’t seem to Herx from coiling my legs or hips. Most of the reaction seems to come from coiling my central nervous system (spine and head). Interestingly, though, the Herx lands in my shoulders from coiling my central nervous system, along with more neurological manifestations.
This week the Herx is a lot in my head, jaw, neck and shoulders; they’re tight and painful. I’m also very tired, very grumpy (feeling like this will never be over and I’ll never get my head above water enough to write my novel and I’ll never get to have the life I want for myself), and slightly weak in my arms. Meanwhile, I can’t sleep for more than six hours and I’m pale and washed out. Today, I’ve had pretty bad pain in the bones of my hands and feet and sacrum. My urine has had the Lyme smell, but not a strongly as before. If I could get a good night’s sleep, I would be in much better shape. Yesterday I was able to peel myself out of bed. This morning I stayed in bed for a long time from fatigue, not pain.
In comparison, the last two Herxes had all these symptoms, plus pretty significant pain in my spine, and the headaches were much, much worse. The light sensitivity was more intense compared to this weekend when it didn’t really bother me. Previous mornings were almost impossible and I had to stay in bed from pain.
This treatment is definitely better than the years on antibiotics. I don’t regret using antibiotics, especially since my doctor taught me all about the necessity of detoxing during that time. But this process makes me hopeful that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Laundry as a symbol
For years, I needed help with the laundry. Originally, my mother had to do it for me. Then I got well enough to go to the laundry room with her and sort my clothes into the machines and she would do the folding, hanging and sheets. Then we got to the point where I only needed help with sheets. Up to that point, if I went to the laundry room, I sat there the whole time because it was too taxing to go up and down to my apartment over and over.
Now I can do the sheets myself, too. And today, I was “multitasking;” while the wash was happening, I came upstairs to work in my kitchen. I almost felt normal.
We aren’t fully back to normal yet. After I did the laundry, I couldn’t move. I was done with activities for the day.

Body
Night sweat.
I went to see my naturopath (which is why I peeled myself out of bed in the morning). I thought I would come home and do laundry or go to the grocery store. But I spent the rest of the day napping and resting. I was just too tired to move. This seems to happen the day after I coil my spine or head for Lyme.
(The rest of my body stuff is above.)

Body
I love daylight savings time. I got an extra hour in bed this morning. No extra sleep, just extra rest.
I had a minimal apetite today, but with a few cravings: dairy and salty pickles.
In addition to what I wrote above, this evening, I’m having pain in my lower body, bone and muscle pain in my legs. I think I’m heading back to the biomat.

I am new to the Lyme game and am recovering from toxic black mold exposure. Then I found out I had Lyme (neuro). I also have hydatid disease.
I don’t know anything about coiling. Can you fill me in on how it works and if it would work on killing hydatid worms (head, ear, abs).
Thank you,
Kricket
Sorry to hear you’ve got so much to deal with, Kricket. There are links on the upper right hand corner of this page that can direct you to what I know about coiling. There is also the Consolidate, Annotated Frequency List, which you can use to find frequencies for all sorts of ailments. There are no guarantees about what actually works. You’ll have to decide whether to try things for yourself. Good luck!
