A few days ago I was thinking about Welchol and headaches. It has worked for me to take it when a Lyme Herx headache is coming on. Usually, the headache gets stopped in its tracks and after a night’s sleep is gone. I forgot about it for a few months and learned what happens with those headaches when I don’t take Welchol. They feel like migraines that last a week.
I’ve also decided I need to coil more often for Lyme disease. I’m bumping it up to every 7-10 days, rather than every 2-3 weeks. In part this is preparation for the flare season which starts in September. In part, I think I can handle…sort of.
I coiled for Lyme on Saturday. I’m having all sorts of funny symptoms, mostly neurological, as expected from coiling my lower spine and back. (I was told that I should coil my abdomen, but I’m so skinny these days that coiling my back reaches through my abdomen. But I want the strongest part of the electromagnetic field on my spinal fluid and on the nerves radiating from my lower back because that’s where I think a Lyme bacterial colony lives.) I decided not to wait for the headache to start in earnest and to take the Welchol today, when I’m feeling pretty acute pain in my lower back.
My reasoning is that the Welchol supposedly pulls neurotoxins out of the blood stream (and then more neurotoxins migrate out of wherever they are concentrated and into the blood for the process to repeat). I want to start pulling them out the minute I feel their effects, not wait until I’m ready to rip my own head off.
The effects, so far, are a lot of tingling and other sensations in my legs. There was a buzzing sensation just above my left ankle, outer side of my leg, like a pager was going off under my skin. I keep getting the feeling that something is touching the skin on my calves and feet, something light like a feather or an insect. From visual and tactile inspection, I’ve confirmed that there isn’t anything there. I’ve got a muscle pain in my left leg that is much sharper than other muscle pains I usually get, yet the muscle itself isn’t tense. Then there is the back pain, in my spine and surrounding bones, specifically my sacrum and ilium. As I’m typing, I feel a headache coming on, in the back of my head and the top few vertebrae.
The experiment has already begun. I took a Welchol with some coconut milk ice cream (always eat it after some fats or oils) before I started this post (about 3pm). We’ll see what happens.
Crashing
Just after I wrote the first half of this post, I started to feel much worse. The headache came with severe light sensitivity, followed by bone pain in my hands, particularly my right thumb, then a dull ache from head to toe on my left side. I cancelled my plans to visit a friend this evening because I couldn’t sit upright, let alone drive. I decided instead to take a nap.
Now that I’m awake again, my eyes still hurt. My ears and throat are sore. The glands in my neck are swelling. The muscles in the front of my thighs hurt. My back hurts, in my spine it’s sharp and in my muscles it is a painful itch. This is turning out not to be a great night.
I’m going to take another dose of Welchol before I go to bed.
Coiling
- Bartonella, chest, 2 minutes; abdomen, 5 minutes
- Babesia, ilium, 1 minute each side; knees/elbows, 1 minute; liver, 5 minutes; chest, 5 minutes
- Candida, abdomen, 10 minutes; chest, 2 minutes
Detox
This morning, my gut was telling me to lay off Renavive for a few days. I’ve been taking 3 pills a day for about a month or so. I’ll go back to it when I can tell I want to take it again. Now that I no longer have the kidney stone, I’ll save it for the next time I want to do a kidney cleanse.
- skin brushing
- juiced greens
- walk in the sunshine
- BioMat (30 mins level 3)
- nap
Body
No night sweat last night. Almost 8 straight hours of sleep (not even a pee-break). I was nauseated after breakfast. This has been happening for several days, but I usually forget by the time I’m blogging. Today I added a pickle after breakfast and that reduced the nausea pretty quickly (probably the salt equalized my blood pressure).
All the problems above point to a Lyme Herx. I’m assuming that’s what I’m dealing with since it came on pretty abruptly after a coiling treatment.
I’m still having loose stools and urinary hesitation, abdominal swelling and gas. My voice is a little weaker today than it’s been for a while. I’m sweating a lot (stinky, detoxing sweat) and I’m itchy (independently of the painful inside the muscle itch in my back).
Tonight I’m frustrated. I keep wishing for the hard part to be over. It hits me over and over and I bounce back because I love living, but this game is getting old. I feel like this song, but instead of pissing the night away with alcohol, it’s with a variety of pains. Too bad my head hurts too much to listen to it.
