About once a year or so, I get a craniosacral therapy treatment. It always moves something for me, but I don’t really understand how it works.
Apparently there is a lot of controversy about whether craniosacral therapy does anything at all. I can understand why because the treatments I’ve received are so subtle. The practitioner puts her hands at the base of my skull when I’m lying down on my back. Then she puts pressure on it as she works the flow of spinal fluid down my spine, never moving her hands away from the base of my head. I start to feel intense aches and pains in my limbs or my abdomen and a moment later she’ll ask if I feel anything. Next she releases the tension in my skull by pulling on my ears. Then she puts her hands in three positions on my torso, always one hand on my spine and one in the front, while I’m still lying down. She stays until she’s released any stuck energy. That’s the whole treatment.
This particular time, I had a dull ached down the whole right side of my body during the first part of the treatment. For the second and third parts, I have my eyes closed while I focus on the area of my body where she’s working. Interestingly, right as my mind jumped to something else, she asked, “Did you feel the release?” I didn’t experience it as a release, but as a shift. She said she could see a concentration of Lyme bacteria around my sacrum and the adjacent vertebrae in my lumbar spine. She also said the energy in my bladder was pretty stuck.
Anyway, I was okay immediately after this treatment. Last night by 8:15, I had a Herx-plus headache. I think it was a combination of coiling new places for Lyme and the craniosacral treatment. This morning, I felt great. Wide awake, no pain. My body was tired. I have premenstrual cramps, but I felt zesty.
After previous treatments, I’ve had hot flashes or headaches or other big reactions right after the treatment. The first time I had a treatment, the practitioner manifested all my symptoms for a few days. But 24 hours after the treatment, I felt a lot better.
I got the treatment now because I’m trying to get something to shift for me as I end the florinef and use the coil more aggressively. I’m also hoping to shift my energy so that my body uses its defenses to get rid of the fungal infections.
Florinef update
I went down to 1/4 of a dose this morning. The only major feeling is tiredness. I’m a little lightheaded tonight, but not bad at all. When I tried to cut the pill in 4 sections, I ended up with 5 differently sized pieces. So I’m starting with the largest and working my way down until I see the cardiologist Tuesday.
Friday
Coiling
- Babesia, ilium, 1 minute each side; knees/elbows, 1 minute; liver, 5 minutes; chest, 5 minutes; shoulder blades, 30 seconds each; feet, 1 minute
- Lyme, lower spine, 5 minutes; back of head, 1 minute
- Candida, abdomen, 10 minutes; chest, 2 minutes
Detox
I increased my dose of diatomaceous earth to 1/2 teaspoon. I think this is a more effective dose. My intestines are still in clean up mode, but my headache, including the Herx feelings, was gone.
- kombucha
- skin brushing
- diatomaceous earth
- nap
Body
No night sweat. Low level aches in the morning. Kind of tired. Very thirsty. That was the last day of the 0.05 mg dose of florinef.
I made my own dinner. But my mind was not working right. It was slow and I was doing things in the wrong order or the wrong way. I was having a hard time.
I didn’t have much of an appetite till dinner time. Then after dinner I was thoroughly demolished by the headache. At 8:15, I got into bed and turned off the lights. I set a timer for 10:15 to give me time to digest my dinner before taking the diatomaceous earth.
I have a new, small rash on my right bicep. It’s slightly discolored and rough. Want to bet it’s a fungus?
Saturday
Coiling
As I work out the new Lyme protocol, which when I have a clear plan I’ll post, I’m still adding in more on Babesia, slowly, mind you, but steadily on days without big Herxes. I’m hoping to start doing it full body, twice a day, by the end of the Lyme season.
- Bartonella, abdomen, 5 minutes; chest, 2 minutes
- Babesia, ilium, 1 minute each side; knees/elbows, 1 minute; liver, 5 minutes; chest, 5 minutes; shoulder blades, 30 seconds each; shoulder joints, 30 seconds each; feet, 1 minute
- Lyme, crown of head, 30 seconds; side of head, 30 seconds each side (with ear plugs!)
- Candida, abdomen, 10 minutes; chest, 2 minutes
Detox
- kombucha
- skin brushing
- diatomaceous earth
- nap
Body
No night sweat. I got overheated once, so I took off the covers and fell asleep. Of course I woke up cold…
I was feeling rather well this morning, if a bit slow, still zesty. I had a nice visit with my parents. I had energy to cook pumpkin soup. (Small baked pumpkin, can of coconut milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cumin and salt to taste, water to thickness desired. Mix with a whisk, cook for a while. Serve with long grain wild rice mixed in.)
Tonight, my hands hurt a bit. My spine hurts a bit. My blood pressure is a little off but not terribly. I can feel it because my vision is slightly off in the third dimension and I’m a little lightheaded. My urine has the special Lyme smell. Mild premenstrual cramps.
I’m tired. Maybe to bed early tonight.

Craniosacral is wonderful. I had a professor at college and a friend who performed it wonderfully. Frequent sessions are one of the reasons I was able to finish the semester I first got really sick with lyme. It’s the real deal. It may not heal severe illness, but it definitely helps the body heal itself.
